Club Wednesday Description
Hands-On Learning on Wednesdays
Our Club Wednesday programs offer children in our 3-year-old and or 4-year-old VPK classes exciting, hands-on learning experiences. From science experiments to creative art projects and engaging story adventures, children explore new ideas, develop skills, and have fun in a small-group setting.
Registration Information
- Children may enroll in one Science Club only. Club Tuesday Science and Club Wednesday Science are duplicate lessons.
- Spots are filled in the order that online registration forms are submitted.
- Payment must be completed via PayPal with a credit card using the Club Wednesday payment link.
- If your selected club is full, we will contact you by email or phone with alternative options.
- Registration opens Wednesday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m.
- 6-week session fee: $90.00
- Dismissal: Promptly at 1:30 PM
Fall Science (Limited to 18 Children)
- Sept 2: Pencil Sensory Bottle - In this fun activity, we'll learn about density and mix & measure to make a Pencil Sensory Bottle. We will enjoy tipping, turning, spinning, and rolling the bottles to explore the contents inside!
- Sept 9: Quickly Growing Pumpkin Science Experiment-Â While most pumpkins take 90 to 120 days to grow, this simple pumpkin science experiment will allow children to use a chemical reaction to quickly grow a silly Jack-o-Lantern Pumpkin. This is a fun, engaging way for kids to learn about chemical reactions with a fun WOW moment!
- Sept 16: Leaf Salt Painting-Â We will learn about color mixing and absorption science in this creative and easy experiment using household items, paint and salt!

- Sept 30: Hocus Pocus Potions Lab -Â Do you want to add a little spooky science this year? Our Hocus Pocus Potions experiment is perfect for a young mad scientist! We'll have fun mixing bubbling potions with household ingredients.
- Oct 7: Puking Pumpkin-Â Watch what happens to your pumpkin when we mix a few special ingredients together! This is an awesome experiment of a chemical reaction, and your mad scientist will love to see their pumpkin erupt!
- Oct 14: Monster Slime-Â Halloween is an excellent time to put a little twist on classic experiments like this Monster Slime. Our recipe is perfect for all things gooey, monster-y and gross.
Falling into Halloween Art (Limited to 18 Children)
- Sept 2nd: Leaves -Â We will explore leaves while learning the colors of fall.
- Sept 9th: Suncatcher - Today, we will let our light shine as we catch the sunshine!
- Sept 16th: Pumpkins - What is orange and round and lays on the ground? Pumpkins of course!
- Sept 23rd:Â NO CLUB TODAY DUE TO A STAFF MEETING
- Sept 30th: Black Cat -Â This simple black cat craft is perfect for little ones this Halloween!
- Oct 7th:Â Spider Web - Web of dreams-perfectly angled in your web.
- Oct 14th: Ghost - Boo to you!
Fall Fun with Books and Beyond Adventures (Limited to 18 VPK Children)
- Sept 2: "Elmer" by David McKee-Â Join us for the colorful tale of Elmer, the patchwork elephant who learns that being different makes him special! We'll celebrate uniqueness by creating our own bright, patterned elephant artwork to take home.
- Sept 9: "Ten Apples on Top" by Dr. Seuss-Â Can you balance apples like our silly animal friends? We'll count, stack, and giggle through this playful story and then make our own balancing apple craft for a fun math-and-art adventure.
- Sept 16: "It Looked Like Spilt Milk" by Charles G. Shaw-Â Sometimes it looks like a rabbit, sometimes a tree... but it's not! Adventurers will guess the mystery shapes, discover the surprise ending, and use a special technique to create their own.

- Sept 30: "Ten Black Dots" by Donald Crews-Â Can Ten Black Dots become anything you imagine? Adventurers will explore this playful story before creating their own unique dot-inspired work of art.
- Oct 7: "Have you Seen My Acorn?" by DK Ryland- Squirrel has lost his acorn! Adventurers will follow his search, learn about the like cycle of an acorn, and play a lively game of Acorn Bingo.
- Oct 14: "The Color Monster" by Anna Llenas- What color are your feelings today? We will explore emotions through this colorful story, then create our own playful color monster craft.
